Abstract

The aims of the present study  at finding reasons behind the broken Afghan society while analyzing Afghan social and political life discussed in Khalid Hosseini’s novel, “A Thousand Splendid Suns”. It further highlights the negative role of different governments in the twentieth century and rivalries based on ethnicities and clans which helped deteriorate the condition of Afghan society. Moreover, it highlights the role of foreign interventions which have been facilitated by pre-existing conflicts of Afghan society. Besides, a thorough research has been carried out on the harmful effects on the Afghan people caused by wars and conflicts.
