HEALTH EDUCATION OF COMMUNAL MEMBERS REGARDING HIV/AIDS: (A CASE STUDY OF MINGORA CITY, DISTRICT SWAT, PAKISTAN)

The research study has been carried out for the “Health Education of community members Regarding HIV/AIDS”. This study was carried out at Mingora city, District Swat and the respondents included 60 members consisting of male, female and transgender. The respondents were selected through stratified random sampling. The data were collected through Interview schedule method. And the result shows that, most of the defendants were aware of the term HIV/AIDS. Respondents were made aware of the sources of transfusion of HIV/AIDS like blood transfusion, sharing needles, sexual intercourse and unsafe sexual relationship etc. Furthermore, majority of the respondents were of the view that there is direct relation between education and HIV/AIDS. Government needs to arrange seminars and workshops for the spreading of general awareness regarding HIV/AIDS, respondents also emphasized on including broad information in academic curriculum about HIV/AIDS. Based on the study It is suggested that literacy ratio need to be increased for better understanding of HIV/AIDS. And for this purpose, health education should be a part of curriculum in educational institutions.
